FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PLAY FOR BALLISTIC?
Ballistic Soccer Club Hawai`i offers one of the lowest annual costs of any other club in the State of Hawai`i. On average, Ballistic families pay between $400 - $475 a year to be a part of our club, depending on the age group your child is participating in. This includes season fees, and uniforms. Other clubs charge up to 5 times as much, and don't include everything we do. When shopping for a club, please do your due diligence and conduct a thorough assessment before signing to any club, including ours.
We do not require any coaches stipends to be paid by Ballistic families as all of our coaches volunteer their time for no compensation.
DOES MY CHILD NEED PRIOR PLAYING EXPERIENCE TO JOIN BALLISTIC?
NO, all players will be offered an opportunity to play for Ballistic Soccer Club Hawai`i. All we ask is that potential players come to practice with a good, positive attitude. However, it is recommended that potential players have participated in at least a few seasons of i9 Soccer and/or AYSO to be competitive at the club level. Coaches will continuously assess each player to ensure that their team is the proper fit for them. For some players, club level soccer may not be the best learning environment due to the high level of competition. In such cases, the club director in conjunction with the teamʻs coaches may recommend to the family that in the best interest of their child, they may want to consider participating in i9 and/or AYSO to gain a little more experience, thus ensuring their continued enjoyment of the sport.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO PLAY?
Ballistic coaches provide a lot of practice equipment themselves to include goals, cones, etc. Players should bring their own ball appropriate for their age group and a container for water. The leagues that we participate in require players to have cleated shoes and shinguards. Parents may purchase practice shirts and other personal equipment, but it's not required by our club.
HOW MUCH WILL MY CHILD PLAY DURING GAMES?
AYSO rules require players to play at least half the game, however club soccer does not have this rule. Therefore it is at the coaches discretion as to how much or how little your child plays. Our coaches do their best to ensure that everyone gets their fair share of playing time. Please understand that there are many factors that will affect the amount of your child's playing time.
IS MY CHILD ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN OTHER ACTIVITIES WHILE ON A BALLISTIC TEAM?
Absolutely YES! We encourage our athletes to try different sports, after-school activities, and other extracurricular activities. Our goal at Ballistic is not to develop world-class soccer players, although if we do, great! Our goal is develop world-class people who are well-rounded, and versed in many different aspects of their lives rather than just soccer.
WHERE ARE PRACTICES AND GAMES HELD?
Ballistic Soccer Club Hawai`i was established in Mililani, O`ahu 2014, and has continued to operate primarily in Mililani since then. Currently, practices are conducted at the Michael S. Nakamura Neighborhood Park (YMCA Field) and 16 Acres for our Mililani teams. We are not opposed to expanding into other communities. If you would like to start a team in another community, please see our "Start a Team" page under "Contact". Games are primarily held at the Waipio Soccer Complex in Waipahu.
